I got tons of compliments for my mask from both locals and tourists alike but when asked what does your sweater mean my reply was simple “Many things”, but for me it’s very personal and honest. There’s so many levels connected to this message and I seem to learn a new level with each passing use. From far you’ll see the iconic smiling Happy face but up close you’ll see the smile isn’t what it appeared to be. I feel like as a Hawaiian we have to show Aloha because it’s just what we do, it’s part of our culture right? But most of us suffer from generational trauma brought on by the local economy and the politicians who are supposed to have our best interests when creating policy and laws but that’s been falling wayside to foreign profit margins since I can remember. It definitely needs to stop the community is a lot stronger then we give ourselves credit fo. The state of Hawaii has been bullying us for generations because we’ve allowed them to do so but how do you combat a bully? Punch um in the fkn face and call your family and friends and pull up. Im speaking figuratively of course but there’s strength in numbers. Leave a if you agree and a if you disagree it’s all good.🤙 #farmersmarkethawaii #brokenhardened
